Polytar
150ml & 250ml
In mild
cases of dandruff, an ordinary anti-dandruff or medicated
shampoo may resolve the problem. However, in more severe
cases, and in seborrhoeic dermatitis and scalp psoriasis,
something more effective is needed, and you should choose a
tar-based treatment such as Polytar Liquid.
Tars work
in a number of ways to improve the condition. Firstly, they
soften the scales, allowing them to break down into smaller
pieces which are easier to remove and less noticeable. They
also relieve irritation and itching. And, because tars are
antiseptic, they fight any infection which may penetrate the
scalp if it is broken. In psoriasis, tar also works to slow
down the rate of skin cell growth to a more normal level.
Polytar
also has a mild anti-fungal action which reduces the high
level of pityrosporum ovale present on the scalps of
dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis sufferers.
As well as
tars, Polytar Liquid contains oils to moisturize the scalp.
It is pleasant-smelling and easy to use, and leaves the hair
clean and manageable.
