Panoxyl Acnegel
5% & 10% are each indicated for use in the topical treatment

Dosage
and Administration
Panoxyl 5
& 10 gels:
Treatment
should normally begin with Panoxyl 5.
Apply the
gel to the affected areas once daily. Washing prior to
application greatly enhances the efficacy of the
preparation.
The
reaction of the skin to benzoyl peroxide differs in
individual patients, and for this reason the higher
percentage of benzoyl peroxide in panoxyl 10 may be required
in order to provide a satisfactory drying and desquamative
action.
Contra-indication and warnings
Panoxyl
should not be prescribed for patients with a known
hypersensitivity to benzoil peroxide. Application to
sensitive areas such as the neck should be made with
caution; to avoid irritation there should be no contact with
eyes, mouth and other mucous membranes.
In normal
use, a mild burning sensation will probably be felt on first
application and a moderate reddening and peeling of the skin
will occur within a few days. During the first weeks of
treatment a sudden increase in peeling will occur in most
patients: this is not harmful and will normally subside in a
day or two if treatment is temporarily discontinued.
Precautions
For
external use only. Panoxyl may bleach dyed fabrics.
Keep out of
reach of children
